  • Racing Post Racing Post Verdict

The British-trained runners EAST INDIA DOCK and Lulamba have disputed favouritism for some time. They are contrasting types and preference is for the major achievement brought by the former, against the high promise of the latter, who is second choice. While the Irish form may not look that exciting, last month's Leopardstown Grade 1 was a steadily run race in which the unbeaten winner Hello Neighbour and staying-on, third-placed Lady Vega Allen suggested they could raise their games with the different scenario today. The latter looks the first string for Willie Mullins who fields an incredible 11 runners, three of whom have never raced over hurdles. No matter how good they are, this introduces a large dose of added uncertainty and a need for luck in running.[Richard Austen]
