Verdict
A fine servant that has done nothing but improve since returning from his layoff, IN ROCK DE PLAY (1) left a very good impression at Vincennes a fortnight ago and has a realistic chance of repeating. That said, HANDY JET (16) takes a notable dip in category for his comeback from a long layoff and even though poorly-drawn and shod, still looks a leading contender. Barring his Vire sanction, INGLORIOUS (5) has not put a foot out of place lately and is well-positioned behind the car, unlike the returning IVAN DE L'ERDRE (11) who makes his first appearance since November.

Unlucky not to impose first time out, MINUTY DU GERS (8) has been sent quickly back on track with a realistic chance of losing his maiden status. Nicolas Bazire will however be minded to pay attention to the decent MY DREAM (10) who has placed in 2 of 4, and MAESTRO DE RETZ (2) who failed to confirm his excellent qualification when sanctioned early at Cherbourg but who has had time to recalibrate and must be taken seriously. MISTER DES GLENAN (9) gave a reassuringly good account at Chartres and the engagement of Mathieu Mottier will do his prospects no harm.

Still somewhat spirited but clearly talented, LYSANDRA (11) returns to the track after a decent break. She stays shod for re-entry but will have come on over the winter and can wrap this up. Benjamin Rochard will still be keeping an eye on a similarly-shod LADY DU VALLON (12) who is considerably better than her Caen performance would suggest, and a returning and first-time barefoot LADY ANGELE (8) who is 25m better off. Also on the front row, LOCMARIA JEWEL (4) will have progressed for her re-entry run and is not going to be available at 116/1 this time.
