Verdict
So often so close, JULLIAN DADDY (7) finally got off the mark late last month, doing it in style, and a similar performance would see him repeat. That said, the in-form and barefoot JAPPELOUP CARNOIS (2) takes to the amateur category for the first time and looks particularly dangerous from the front row. JUDITH REINE (14) made an encouraging re-entry and even though 25m worse off, is proven in the day's configuration and makes her amateur bow with legitimate ambition. HISTOIRE DE LIERRE (11) encouraged at Laval a fortnight ago and, with hind shoes off, is in with a shout of making the frame this time.

MISTERIOSO (11) was unable at Graignes to confirm his fine Cherbourg debut and the same caveat applies. Pierre-Edouard Mary thinks a lot of the untried MAORI NUEVO (1) who is not here just to go home empty-handed. MOJITO FRAISE (10) got back in the game at Rambouillet and Benjamin Rochard can be confident of another good performance.

LAMA DE CORDAY (11) has hardly put a foot wrong so far, and even though untried left-handed, he races barefoot and will be no soft touch. A course-and-distance winner mid-March, on his first association with Eric Raffin, LEADER BEACH (10) will not go down easily. LUCULLUS DU DOLLAR (5) has been holding his own since the break and, barefoot for the first time on a hard surface, is unlikely to disappoint.

Verdict
Runner-up in her last two, and eye-catching at Mauquenchy mid-March, JACADI DE PEBRAC (4) put on a good show on his lone Chartres start and is easy to like for the win. Estelle Croisic can still expect to feel the heat from fellow front-row starters, JEFF DE TILLARD (6), who comes here on a hat-trick, and JUPITER DE VAL (7) who drops down the category-ladder. Very hard to knock when barefoot, JAVA WIC (13) is forced to travel an extra 25m, but is still competitive for a spot on the podium.
