FILARETE DU VERGER (3) has been firing on all cylinders lately, most recently defied her odds in Paris, and from the 3-spot should have the wherewithal to get her nose in front. That said, GYS (5) won smartly at Vincennes earlier in the month, won his only Cagnes start, and will be no pushover. A veritable metronome when barefoot, HEROS DES MOTTES (1) went close here in late-December and despite the inside draw, still looks a serious proposition. GARDON (12) simply excels at Cagnes-sur-Mer and will be dangerous if Romain Derieux can defy the draw.
