The lightly raced 4yo CLASSIC ENCOUNTER (nap) has been in fine form this spring, including over C&D, and he is selected ahead of Where's Freddy who is also effective here. Good Morning Alex dead-heated at Ripon three weeks ago and is just 2lb higher today.[Ben Hutton]

More reliable on AW than turf and without a win on grass since September 2022; however, he ran well when sixth of 21 in the Spring Mile at Doncaster in March and he's not ruled out each-way.
Lightly raced 4yo for whom things clicked again with a reappearance win at Redcar (1m, good) last month; backed that up with a good second of 14 over this C&D (good) and he's a strong contender.
Six wins between December 2023 and last June, and he was back on song when dead-heating for first at Ripon (1m, good) three weeks ago; just 2lb higher today and this prominent-racer can make another bold bid.
Two 7f wins on the other Newmarket course and close second here (7f, good to firm) last September; in good form on AW earlier this year, finishing second at Chelmsford (1m, AW) in March last time; he's one to consider.
Creditable third at Epsom last June on sole handicap start and now 10lb lower; often placed but wasn't at his best in two AW maidens this February and is now 0-11; his claims aren't overly compelling.
Three handicap wins last April-July; her progress stalled subsequently and her best turf form has come at Yarmouth, where she reappeared with a creditable fourth (1m, good to firm) 16 days ago; however, she ran okay on her sole previous visit here and is not ruled out.
0-10 last year and well beaten on last month's reappearance at Chelmsford; however, he may have needed that run and is well handicapped on form as recent as last September; not discounted.
