Wandering so markedly between the last two flights was a feature of PERGAMON's win at Plumpton two weeks ago but he's now shown that he can win on the Flat (in France) and at the first attempt over hurdles. It might prove best to side with him again but the long-absent Champ De Gane had good form in his Irish days and rules newcomer Green Bonnet (feared most) has a notable pedigree and notable connections. Kow Boy Sivola is also in serious calculations.[Richard Austen]

1m7f winner on the Flat in France last summer; had two runs on the Flat this spring before faring far better to win eight-runner maiden at Plumpton (2m, good) on hurdling debut two weeks ago, travelling strongly to lead two out but wandering badly before the last; wore cheekpieces on last two outings; promising recruit, particularly if keeping in more of a straight line.
0-18 but he's finished second over 2m/2m4f on varied ground in five of his chases and two of his hurdle starts; those placings were for Stuart Crawford and present easily the best form in this field, but he was pulled up in a chase in January 2024 on his only start for current yard.
Well beaten in his sole bumper (soft) but much better to take minor honours over hurdles at Perth (2m, good) and Sedgefield (2m1f, good) in the autumn; has since left Lucinda Russell (same owner); admittedly beaten 17l by the Coltherd-trained favourite last time but this brother to high-class chaser Funambule Sivola should be in the mix if returning on song.
£22,000 3yo; eighth foal; closely related to useful 2m hurdle/chase winner Xcitations, half-sister to five winners including Actinpieces (useful 2m-3m1f hurdle/chase) and Haafapiece (bumper/2m-2m4f hurdle); second of six in a point bumper at Larkhill (good) in December and sold for £20,000 in January; with a major yard and needs a market check.
