Doc McCoy is clearly the one to beat but the rapid turnaround since his latest two outings poses one question and this trip asks another. The Bold Thady, contrastingly, could find this trip on the short side but he's produced a solid sequence that needs respect. A chance is taken instead on the readiness of SAM'S AMOUR who has not raced since October. She was a runaway winner of this race last year, off a much lower mark admittedly but she also scored in two non-handicaps afterwards and returns here on a hat-trick.[Richard Austen]

Ran well on both visits here, winning over hurdles last March and second over fences in December; however, he's been out of form elsewhere on his last three outings, back hurdling on last two, and now has tongue tied first time; not proven over this far; 10lb claimer is recruited.
Good-ground winner for claiming riders over 3m2f here last May and 2m7f last September; competitive on last three outings (good to soft latest) and needs respect despite this being his shortest trip for over two years.
Won this race last year (good) by 21l off 19lb lower than today and she showed better form when 15l winner of a novice hurdle at Exeter (2m2f, good) in October; also took a 2m2f Stratford seller (good to soft) later in October when last seen; trainer won this race in 2022 as well; one to note.
Back to hurdles on last three outings with two 2m4f wins (Fakenham and Ffos Las) and a close second, all in small fields on good ground; this will be his third run in the last week and he's not proven over this far, but he easily made all off this mark in a conditional jockeys' race on Thursday and clearly has a leading chance if he remains in that form.
Useful over fences and hurdles in his prime; three races this spring represents his busiest spell for ages and he was second of four over fences at Exeter (3m, good) on second occasion, but return to hurdling saw him well held over C&D (despite similar form) one month ago.
Narrow winner off this mark at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good) in August 2023 but not seen since a poor show that November; needs a market check but longer trips would seem to be ideal.
Won a weak race here on hurdling debut in December; second under Ben Ffrench Davis at Plumpton (extended 2m4f, good) early last month in his first handicap but only four of five finished and he unseated early here on latest outing; early days but he probably needs some improvement.
