Top of the list is GREAT CHIEFTAIN (nap) who was the convincing winner of a well-contested race at the Newmarket Guineas meeting and can make light of a 6lb rise. Second choice is No Retreat who has recorded largely progressive RPRs and looks an interesting new recruit for George Scott. The hat-trick seeking Candonomore completes the shortlist. [Andrew Sheret]

Kept on well for promising third on reappearance here (7f) in April; his subsequent run at the York Dante meeting was disappointing given his good overall record at that venue, with his trainer inclined to blame the slow pace; draw not ideal and Tudhope looks elsewhere.
Had a light campaign in 2024, bookended by fine second placings in the Lincoln at Doncaster and Balmoral at Ascot (both 1m, soft); well beaten in this year's Lincoln on reappearance, though, and it's unlikely that underfoot conditions here will be as testing as he ideally wants them.
First past post in competitive Spring Mile at Doncaster (good to soft) in March but demoted due to interference; disappointing on Tapeta at Newcastle since but a much more potent force on turf; any rain is in his favour.
Useful on his day, landing soft-ground handicaps at Hamilton (1m1f) and Ascot (1m) at the end of last summer; his 2024 campaign ended on a low note, after which he underwent wind surgery; ran well (good ground) on 2024 reappearance and he's the mount of Danny Tudhope from the yard's pair.
Went close at Kempton (7f, Polytrack) in March; respectable third of six back on turf at Newmarket (7f, good) at the beginning of this month but not so good back on AW at Newcastle since.
Won over C&D (good) for Roger Varian last summer and another fine effort over C&D when second on soft in the autumn; changed hands for 110,000gns after final 3yo start; never involved in the Lincoln at Doncaster on reappearance for new yard but he did meet trouble in running; stall 14 could make life tricky.
Reacted well to a visor with 7f wins here (good to soft) and at Chester (heavy) last September; creditable third of 14 back at Chester (extended 7f, good) on reappearance 15 days ago; same mark today; firmish ground would be an unknown, while she's also yet to prove conclusively that she stays 1m.
Won three handicaps last summer and shrugged off two disappointing efforts in 2025 when getting his head back in front at Newmarket (1m, good) three weeks ago; that was a competitive event at the Guineas meeting and a 6lb rise may well not stop him if he shows up in a similar mood.
Underwhelming strike-rate but he's currently only 1lb higher than when edging out Thunder Roar at York (1m, soft) last autumn and had an excuse (hampered) when ninth in the Spring Mile back on turf last time.
Ended her time with Alice Haynes with a win at Nottingham (1m, soft) in October; second on her 2024 return but all her best form has come on going softer than good, so possibly best watched unless it goes that way here.
Has won 1m fast-ground handicaps at Wetherby and Leicester since being gelded; jumps from a Class 5 to Class 3 but further progress can't be discounted in his current mood.
Won on AW Flat at Wolverhampton (9.4f) last autumn but well held in two hurdle runs at the end of 2024 and suffered a similar fate back on AW Flat last week.
