Won two in a row last August (6f, good/good to firm) and may well have won at Thirsk (5f, good) recently if he'd had a clear run; just 1lb higher today and there can be optimism he'll make amends.
Inconsistent during last season's debut campaign, which ended tamely, but he won three times (5f, AW/good) and may have benefited from a break; not ruled out in a first-time tongue-tie on his return to action.
Progressive last year, winning three times, and he's continued the good work this season with creditable second placings off this mark at Beverley (5f, good) and Ascot (5f, good to firm), most recently a length and a half behind Blue Day with whom he's 6lb better off; solid contender.
Just one win from his last 18 starts but often runs well, as when runner-up on two of his three outings this season; beaten just a neck at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) on Saturday and can be thereabouts off the same mark.
Now 2lb lower than when winning at Southwell (5f, AW) in December and he's also effective on turf; however, he hasn't been at his best on his last three starts (AW/grass) and needs to raise his game.
