The two penalty carriers are an obvious starting point and, although Fox Wallace won comfortably last week, ROCKS UP LATE likely won the stronger race and he gets a firm vote to remain unbeaten for Ben Pauling. Romanor posted an encouraging effort on his recent return and is clear third choice.[Richard Russell]

Multiple chase wins at 2m-2m5f; didn't get going last year but offered much more on his recent return from a 325-day break, staying on to be beaten just over 2l here (extended 2m3f, good); may sharpen up for that but needs to prove this shorter trip still suits these days.
Best form for this yard when third at Wincanton (about 2m, good to soft) in November, when first-time cheekpieces were added to his tongue tie, but hasn't been able to back up that performance, including when blinkered and outpaced over further at this track last time; continues to drop in the weights but others are preferred.
Left Tom Ellis for £1,000 in February and that looked money well spent on his stable/chase debut at Worcester (about 2m, good) last week, winning with something to spare in a newly applied tongue tie; 3lb well in under his penalty and he's got strong claims of following up.
Finished second in this off 11lb higher in 2023; beaten about 42l on his first two starts this year but took a step back in the right direction when third at Plumpton (2m1f, good) last month; needs more.
Found her form of late, building on placed efforts at Taunton and Hereford when comfortably making all, from 8lb out of the weights, in a mares' race at Stratford (2m1f, good) one week ago; despite her penalty she's effectively just 1lb higher and officially 7lb well in; another bold bid on the cards.
