Durable sort won the Champion Chase at Cheltenham in 2024 and just denied in this event next time; however, hasn't been at that level this season and this looks a stronger renewal, so looks more of a place prospect.

El Fabiolo
Was the outstanding 2m novice chaser of his generation but has been plagued with jumping frailties since pulled-up in the 2024 Cheltenham Champion Chase and fell at Aintree last time; has the raw ability to run a big race if jumping soundly but that is a big if.

Fact To File
Impressive novice season culminated with a win in the 3m Brown Advisory at Cheltenham; was racing keenly in defeat over 3m this term after winning the John Durkan Chase on return over 2m3.5f at this track; travelled powerfully back in trip when easily winning the Ryanair Chase last time; last ran over 2m when second in the 2023 Champion Bumper; still has to be given major respect.

Marine Nationale
Won the Supreme Novices' Hurdle in 2023 under the late Michael O'Sullivan but only ran twice over fences last season; gradual improvement in four chase starts this term culminating in a win in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham last time; some of his rivals were let down by their jumping then, but he was still a worthy winner; won over hurdles at this track; given major respect.

Decent hurdler/chaser put up a career-best when beating El Fabiolo in the Grade 2 Webster Cup Chase at Navan last time; however, he was receiving 9lb from that rival and will struggle to confirm that form, with others to worry about too.

Solness
Improved markedly over fences since finishing fourth in a 2m handicap at this meeting last year; won back-to-back Grade 1s at Leopardstown under forceful front-running tactics before a lesser effort when racing in a more restrained fashion at Cheltenham behind Marine Nationale; has something to find with that rival.
