Having threatened more on occasions last year, Double Red finally delivered it on his reappearance when scoring pretty smoothly over 1m here three weeks ago. His completing a double has to be one of the most likely outcomes in this race but there is more for him to prove over 1m2f, as his second over this trip last August was a remote one. 0-12 but placed in the last three of his five starts since joining Declan Carroll, including when short-headed over C&D last June (good to firm) and third over eight back over C&D (good) recently on his first start for 301 days; in the mix.
Front-runner who won twice over 1m2f on good to firm last summer when trained by Georgina Nicholls; back near his best when second of eight over C&D (favourite) 17 days ago, so he helps make this race look competitive.
10yo who's had ten wins, the latest over 1m last July/November but he's probably still just as effective at 1m2f; has a recent run under his belt and could be thereabouts.
Usually slowly away; co-second favourite for reappearance over 1m here (good) three weeks ago and he got off the mark at tenth attempt, leading over 2f out for a clearcut win in second-time cheekpieces; back up 5lb and more to prove at 1m2f but may have turned over something of a new leaf.
All three wins on good to firm, the latest in July 2023; thrown in judged on his placed form on turf in three runs last summer but this is his first run since December and he did need his first run last term.
He's had more joy on AW, with sole turf win in an amateurs' race at Newbury (1m2f, good to firm) last July; 3lb lower today and he had an AW win last month, followed by a respectable effort, so he's not ruled out.
1m3f at Carlisle in July 2023 saw his only win from 15 races; lightly raced since but not far away at Doncaster (1m2f) or Beverley (1m4f) on last two outings, which brings him into each-way calculations.
