Walkinthecotswolds is well handicapped off the same mark as when winning on heavy ground ten days ago, a breakthrough win which followed wind surgery. She found plenty for pressure that day and is not passed over lightly but WRAPPEDINRUBIES brings potential after emerging late on the scene to make a winning handicap debut at Catterick. There are no solid claims among the others but Barra Blue won three starts back, Edmond has the cheekpieces restored and Chosen Bae is another handicap debutante to check out.[Richard Austen]

20-1 under claimer William Maggs for handicap debut in 13-runner race at Catterick (2m3f, good) in December and she snatched the win with a strong late bid from mid-division; up 4lb and the very mixed displays in her qualifying races aren't yet forgotten, but she may now have turned a corner.
Hooded last four starts; reportedly made a respiratory noise when trying 3m on heavy going on penultimate start; returned from wind surgery with a tongue-tie in novice handicap at Chepstow (extended 2m3f, heavy) ten days ago and finally broke her duck, making all in gritty style; has the same mark today (due to go up 5lb) and is a leading player if in the same form.
Won a bumper for Rod Millman at Newton Abbot (good) in May 2023, the only time she's worn cheekpieces; absent 553 days before well beaten in three hurdle races this winter but going handicapping should make her more interesting and the cheekpieces return.
Never dangerous at 40-1 when fifth of ten on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (2m4f) in June 2023; 9lb lower today but has raced only once since, when pulled up at 200-1 in a 2m3f novice 18 days ago; plenty to prove.
9yo mare who is a nine-race maiden; absent 546 days before well beaten at 125-1 in a handicap at Hereford (2m, soft) last month; probably stays 2m5f but others look more solid.
Close third in a Bangor maiden hurdle (2m, good) last May, easily the best of her four runs over hurdles; sometimes sweating and has made the running on last three starts, off 211 days before beaten 26l on handicap debut at Ffos Las (2m4f, soft) four weeks ago; needs overall improvement for in-form yard.
Placed in both her Irish mares' maiden points in 2023; no worthwhile in her three hurdle races, with a long absence before hooded and tongue tied in both starts this winter; 4lb wrong but perhaps with better prospects now she goes handicapping and she needs a market check.
